Title: Clinical implications of lower extremity muscle activation while exercising using a recumbent stepper

Topic: NuStep is widely used in many clinics in Michigan and around the world as an exercise modality. Research performed at Wayne State University has shown that exercising on the NuStep results in efficient recruitment of certain key lower extremity muscles such as Vastus medialis Obliques, Tibialis Anterior and Hamstrings.  These key muscles have a huge role to play in walking, and in particular the control of the lower extremity limb segments in walking. Dr. Galen's talk will present these results and their clinical implication for physical therapy professionals.

Presenter: Dr. Sujay Galen PT, PhD, FHEA, Associate Professor of Physical Therapy from Wayne State University
